Mumbai Child Denied Timely Care at BMC Hospital
A 12-year-old child in Mumbai fell from a staircase and got hurt.
The mother took the child to a nearby hospital called M.W. Desai Hospital.
But the hospital said they didn't have the right doctor to help the child.
So, the mother had to take the child to another hospital, which was 12 kilometers away.
This happened because the first hospital didn't have an orthopedic doctor, who is a specialist for bone and muscle injuries.
The hospital boss said they will check what happened, but he also said they are not supposed to send patients away without help.
This is not the first time this has happened at this hospital.
Last year, a badly hurt woman also had to wait a long time before being sent to the same other hospital.
A 12-year-old child was denied timely treatment at M.W. Desai Hospital in Malad due to the absence of an orthopedic doctor.
The child's mother had to travel 12 kilometers to HBT Trauma Care Hospital in Jogeshwari for treatment.
The child sustained serious injuries to the hand and leg after falling from a staircase.
Hospital staff cited the lack of an orthopedic specialist as the reason for the referral.
The hospital superintendent denied deliberate negligence and announced an inquiry into the incident.
