Saudi Aramco Plans Partial East-West Pipeline Restart After Houthi Strikes

Saudi Aramco Plans Partial East-West Pipeline Restart After Houthi Strikes

Saudi Arabia has an important oil pipeline that carries crude across the country to the Red Sea.

The pipeline was shut after drones allegedly linked to the Houthis attacked it.

The damage was first thought to take weeks to repair.

Now, Saudi Aramco may restart about half of the pipeline within days.

The pipeline helps Saudi Arabia send oil to customers without using the Strait of Hormuz.

Some European oil shipments were reportedly cancelled or delayed.

Saudi Arabia has also arranged oil sales to Asian refiners.

The reports say the Houthis and Saudi Arabia have been in conflict, but the full damage and repair timeline are not yet certain.
