Gujarat Attracts Massive Manufacturing Investment Through Infrastructure and Policy

Gujarat is attracting many companies that want to build factories.

Maruti Suzuki has expanded its car plant there to make up to one million vehicles each year.

Honda plans to add a new motorcycle production line.

Other companies are building semiconductor, consumer-goods, energy and technology facilities.

Gujarat says its ports, roads, power supply and business policies help companies invest.

The state also has many industrial areas with utilities already available.

Its manufacturing output has grown substantially since 2013-14.

However, experts say Gujarat needs better technical training, roads and worker services.

The state is trying to address these needs through its new industrial policy.
