Kakinada Port to Get Four-Lane Link to NH-216

Kakinada Port to Get Four-Lane Link to NH-216

A new road is being planned to connect Kakinada Port directly to a national highway.

The road would be about five kilometres long and have four lanes.

Right now, trucks from the port travel through Kakinada city for nearly 27 kilometres.

The new road would shorten that journey by about 22 kilometres.

Trucks could save 30 to 40 minutes on each trip.

The shorter route may also reduce fuel and transport costs.

Officials expect it to ease traffic and improve safety in the city.

Before construction, officials must check environmental rules, legal requirements, land needs, and the road’s exact route.
