Naidu Pledges Easier Land Rights and Rural Development

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said farmers should be able to work their land instead of repeatedly visiting offices to settle land problems.

He said the government had distributed 40.58 lakh land passbooks and would continue giving them to eligible farmers.

He also said 16.48 lakh acres had been removed from a list of restricted land.

Naidu said his government repealed the Land Titling Act because it caused ownership disputes.

He said land problems were being addressed through a new survey process.

At the meeting, he announced a reservoir project intended to provide irrigation and drinking water.

He also described plans for roads, bridges, irrigation projects and rural infrastructure.

He said the government would continue working on welfare and development across the state.
