Thanksgiving 2025: Why It Falls on the 4th Thursday of November
Thanksgiving is a big holiday in the US where people get together to eat yummy food and be thankful.
It started a long time ago when the first President, George Washington, said it should be a day to give thanks.
Later, another President, Abraham Lincoln, made it a national holiday.
Now, it's always on the fourth Thursday of November.
People still eat turkey and pie, but they also do fun new things like writing what they're thankful for on special paper or going on hikes to say thanks.
It's a time for families to be together and remember what's important.
Thanksgiving 2025 is on November 27, the fourth Thursday of November.
George Washington first declared Thanksgiving in 1789.
Abraham Lincoln made it a national holiday in 1863.
Congress officially set the date as the fourth Thursday in 1941.
Modern traditions include 'Gratitude Jar 2.0' and 'Thankful Treks'.
