100 Stray Dogs Killed in Telangana
In a village in Telangana, India, 100 stray dogs were found dead and buried.
The dogs were discovered in a pit outside the village.
The police have started an investigation and have filed a case against the village leader and secretary.
A group called SAFI, which cares for animals, says the government did not act quickly enough to find out what happened to the dogs.
They also say it's important to do a postmortem to understand how the dogs died.
The police are still trying to find out who poisoned the dogs.
In New Delhi, animal activists held a prayer ceremony to mourn the deaths of these dogs and many others, demanding justice and better protection for animals.
100 stray dogs were allegedly killed and buried in Thimmaipally village, Charakonda Mandal, Nagarkurnool district, Telangana.
The carcasses were discovered on Tuesday evening.
An FIR has been lodged against the village sarpanch and gram panchayat secretary under sections 325 read with 3(5) of BNS, and section 11(1)(a) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960.
