Assam's Adarsha Vidyalayas Aim to Transform Government Schools
Assam is building special government schools called Adarsha Vidyalayas.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma says these schools are more than just new buildings.
They are planned as complete places for learning.
They may have smart classrooms, science and computer labs, libraries and playgrounds.
The goal is to give children across Assam better learning opportunities.
The programme is especially intended to help students in rural and semi-urban areas.
The government wants children in government schools to compete with students from well-resourced schools.
It is expanding these schools across different districts.
The initiative is part of Assam's wider effort to improve school education.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said Adarsha Vidyalayas have changed the meaning of government schools in Assam.
The model schools are being developed with smart classrooms, science and computer laboratories, libraries and playgrounds.
The initiative aims to create comprehensive educational ecosystems rather than simply construct new school buildings.
The government wants students from every block and area to compete with those from leading educational institutions.
Adarsha Vidyalayas are being expanded across Assam as part of efforts to modernise schools and reduce educational disparities.
