Bombay High Court Rejects Father’s Singapore Custody Transfer

Bombay High Court Rejects Father’s Singapore Custody Transfer

The Bombay High Court reviewed a disagreement about where a young boy should live.

His mother had brought him from Singapore to Pune, where he was attending school and living with family.

A family court had ordered that he go back to Singapore to live with his father.

The High Court said the child’s well-being must come first.

It said the family court did not carefully examine the child’s settled life in Pune.

It also criticised comments about what a wife should do and other stereotypes about the mother.

The father said the mother was using the child against him.

The High Court found that the decision relied too much on the parents’ arguments and untested messages, so it set the order aside.
