Uttar Pradesh Leads in Rooftop Solar Installation, Registration
Uttar Pradesh is doing great things with solar power!
They have the most rooftop solar panels installed in the country, and they're also the best at signing people up for the program.
In July 2025, they had nearly 28,000 installations.
Although they are third overall in total installations, UP is catching up.
They've also significantly increased their solar energy capacity since 2017.
Plus, UP is number one in producing eco-friendly Compressed Bio Gas, showing that the state cares about clean energy.
Overall, UP is leading the way in clean energy initiatives.

UP had 27,771 rooftop solar installations in July 2025 under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana.
UP is third in total installations with 196,327, following Gujarat and Maharashtra.
Solar energy capacity in UP increased from 389 MW in 2017 to 5,157 MW in 2025.
UP is number one in the country for Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) production.
