70-Year-Old Odisha Woman Survives 12 Hours In River
Kesi Dalai is a 70-year-old woman from Odisha.
She went near the Brahmani River on Saturday night.
Her foot slipped, and she fell into the river.
She stayed afloat in the water for almost 12 hours.
The river carried her about 30 kilometres downstream.
Two people in a boat saw her waving and rescued her.
They gave her clothes, warmed her and took her to a hospital.
The rescue happened while heavy rain and flooding affected parts of Odisha.

She remained afloat for nearly 12 hours and drifted about 30 kilometres downstream.

Monsoon flooding has also breached the Gangahar River embankment, damaging farmland and prompting rescues in Mayurbhanj district.
