They became very popular in Norway by making songs about their mixed cultural backgrounds.
Their music uses Gujarati, Arabic, Norwegian and other languages.
They also sing about family, belonging, racism and immigration.
In 2022, they released an album called “Omar Sheriff,” which was very successful.
Their festival sold 105,000 tickets, a huge number for Norway.
Thousands of people waited online to buy tickets for Karpe’s final concerts.
So many people tried to buy tickets that the Ticketmaster website crashed.
Karpe plans to finish with a farewell concert at Oslo Spektrum in August 2028.
Gujarati-origin rapper Chirag Rashmikant Patel and Magdi Omar Ytreeide Abdelmaguid formed the Norwegian duo Karpe.
