Chakan's Industrial Growth Fuels Traffic Woes, Hits Workers

Chakan's Industrial Growth Fuels Traffic Woes, Hits Workers

Chakan is a place near Pune where many big factories have been built.

Because of these factories, lots of people and big trucks come and go every day.

This makes the roads very crowded, especially in the morning and evening when people travel to work or head home.

When roads are too crowded, people get stuck in traffic for a long time.

For workers who are paid by the day, every hour stuck in traffic means less money they can earn.

Drivers also have to spend more money on fuel while waiting in traffic.

Some people say big trucks are parked where they are not allowed, which blocks the roads even more.

Others say the roads are old, get flooded when it rains, and are not big enough for all the vehicles.

The people living and working there have asked the police and city leaders to fix the problem.

They worry that if nothing is done, the traffic will only get worse as more factories are built.
