Amul MD Mehta on US Tariffs: 'India Not Tariff King'
Jayen Mehta, from Amul, talked about the US calling India a 'tariff king'.
He said the US has different import taxes on different products, but India has a standard 30% tax.
Amul has been selling in the US for a long time.
Mehta doesn't think new US taxes will hurt Amul much because people still want their products.
He also supports the Prime Minister's promise to protect Indian farmers in trade talks with the US.
Amul MD Jayen Mehta addressed the 'tariff king' claim made by Donald Trump against India.
Mehta stated that the US charges varying import duties, unlike India's standard 30% rate.
He mentioned that Amul has been exporting to the US for 25 years, despite existing tariffs.
Mehta believes Amul's exports won't be severely impacted by additional US tariffs.
He supported PM Modi's stance on protecting Indian farmers during trade negotiations.
