Palghar Ganeshotsav Traditions Enter Digital Record For UNESCO Campaign
Palghar is collecting digital records of how people celebrate Ganeshotsav.
This is part of Maharashtra’s effort to seek UNESCO recognition for the festival.
People can share photos, videos and information about their celebrations.
They can describe prayers, food, decorations and cultural programs.
They can also share bhajans, kirtans, dhol-tasha performances and other folk arts.
Information about idol makers and local artists can be included too.
The records will help preserve Palghar’s traditions for future generations.
People who take part will receive a certificate from the Maharashtra government.
Palghar’s Ganeshotsav traditions will be digitally documented under Maharashtra’s campaign seeking UNESCO recognition.
Citizens, Ganesh mandals, artists, self-help groups and housing societies can submit material through Bappa.org.
Submissions may include rituals, food, decorations, cultural programs, performances, folk arts and idol-making practices.
Participants who register and document celebrations will receive a Digital Cultural Heritage Preservation Certificate.
Materials can also be shared through WhatsApp at 9136172681.
