Karnataka to ensure 24-hour service at taluk hospitals
The Karnataka government wants all taluk hospitals and community health centres to be open 24 hours a day.
They plan to add more doctors and staff to make this happen.
Right now, some places close early, which can be a problem for people who need medical help.
The government is also hiring new doctors, nurses, and other medical workers.
They want to make sure everyone gets the care they need, especially for mothers and babies.
Some people are worried about moving doctors from places with fewer patients, but the government says they will adjust if needed.
Karnataka aims to provide 24-hour service at all taluk hospitals and community health centres.
Each taluk hospital will have two obstetricians, two anaesthetists, two paediatricians, one radiologist, and one physician.
Community health centres with fewer than 30 deliveries will have two MBBS doctors and a physician.
The government is hiring 1,500 MBBS doctors, 800-900 specialist doctors, 600 nurses, 400 lab technicians, and 400 pharmacists.
Recruitment process is expected to be completed by the end of the month.
