Al-Falah University Founder Arrested for Fraud
Al-Falah University, which runs many schools and colleges, was found to be operating without proper checks.
The groups that are supposed to make sure schools are good, like UGC and NMC, did not notice problems for a long time.
They did not visit the schools often or check records.
This let Al-Falah keep running even after some of its permissions expired.
The founder of the university, Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui, was arrested for fraudulently acquiring land by forging documents in the names of deceased persons.
The government is now checking all the university's records to find out more about these problems.
Al-Falah University was running at least nine educational institutions across various streams.
Regulatory bodies like UGC, NMC, and NCMEI failed to identify and act on red flags in Al-Falah's operations.
Authorisation for two of Al-Falah's schools expired at least two years ago, but the institution continued to function.
The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) 'show-caused' Al-Falah for putting out misleading information.
