Maharashtra is facing a drought that is making life harder for farmers.

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said the state would help affected communities.

He said loan recovery would be paused and farmers could get help restructuring loans.

He also promised fodder for animals in affected districts.

Shinde spoke at a Shiv Sena gathering in Parbhani.

The party announced a service program with bicycles for farmers’ children and sewing machines for women.

It also plans to provide festive food kits, open 25 ambulances and hold community weddings.
