India, EU Hold Second Trade Talks Meeting in a Month
India and the European Union are talking about making a trade deal, like a special agreement to make it easier to buy and sell things between them.
They've met twice in a month to speed things up.
This agreement could cover things like what taxes are charged on goods, and protect ideas like inventions.
Both sides want to finish the deal, hoping it will boost trade and help businesses.
India's minister and the EU's trade commissioner are working hard to make it happen, maybe even by July.
This could lead to more trade in products like clothes, medicine, and electronics.
Indian Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal met with EU Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic in Brussels to discuss a free trade agreement (FTA).
This was the second meeting between the two within a month regarding the FTA negotiations.
The two sides are aiming to conclude an early harvest trade agreement, potentially by July.
The early harvest agreement could include discussions on intellectual property rights, tariffs, and government procurement.
India and the EU resumed FTA negotiations in June 2022 after an eight-year pause.
