Mumbai Canteen Shut After Fly Found in Buttermilk

Mumbai Canteen Shut After Fly Found in Buttermilk

A canteen inside the BMC headquarters in Mumbai was shut down because a fly was found in a glass of buttermilk.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) did a five-hour check and found that the canteen was not following hygiene rules.

The canteen operator, Kamal Caterers, was fined ₹50,000.

This happened during a bigger effort by the FDA to make sure food places in Mumbai are safe.

Similar actions were taken against other food places, like the canteen at KEM Hospital.
