Indian Hammer Thrower Manju Bala Banned 5 Years for Doping Violation

A talented Indian athlete named Manju Bala, who competes in hammer throw and won a medal at the 2014 Asian Games, has been banned from sports for five years.

This ban happened because she failed a drug test after taking substances that are not allowed.

The test found a steroid and another substance called ligandrol, which help athletes perform better.

Her ban started in July 2024 and will last until 2029.

This means she cannot compete in any games or official events during this time.

The agency that makes these decisions, NADA, says this shows they are serious about keeping sports fair and clean in India.

Manju Bala was a known athlete with a personal best throw of 64.88m.
