Chinese Firm Halts Alzheimer's Drug Production Amid Scrutiny
A Chinese company called Green Valley, has stopped making their Alzheimer's drug, GV-971.
This is because the drug's permission to be sold has expired and needs to be renewed.
The company is waiting for the government to check everything.
GV-971 was the first new Alzheimer’s treatment approved in China in 17 years.
Some experts have questioned if it works very well.
The company also had to stop a big study because they ran out of money and faced issues due to the COVID pandemic.
Although production is halted, the company says this is temporary, and they are in contact with the government, hoping to resume sales soon.
