Bareilly Teen’s Body Exhumed in Suspected Honour Killing Case

Bareilly Teen’s Body Exhumed in Suspected Honour Killing Case

A teenage girl in Bareilly went missing on July 28.

Her boyfriend told police he feared that her family had killed her because they opposed their relationship.

Police investigated the complaint and detained her uncle.

With permission from the District Magistrate, officers dug up a body from a field.

The body was badly decomposed, so DNA testing is being used to confirm who it was.

Reports say the uncle told police that family members had strangled and buried the girl.

He has been arrested and sent to jail.

Police are still waiting for medical and forensic reports before confirming exactly what happened and who else may be involved.
