Odisha and IGNOU Partner for Odia Language Education
The Odisha government and IGNOU are teaming up to offer courses in the Odia language.
This means students in Odisha can study various subjects, including business, in Odia.
The goal is to make higher education more accessible by removing language barriers.
This follows the National Education Policy's focus on education in regional languages and is expected to help students, reduce dropouts, and increase the number of people going to college.
Odisha government partners with IGNOU to offer Odia language courses.
The initiative includes undergraduate, postgraduate, and certificate programs.
The MoU was signed on Monday.
Courses will be available in fields such as travel and tourism management, BBA, and MBA.
The project aims to support the National Education Policy 2020.
