Kolkata Scooter Rider Killed Between Racing Buses
A man was riding a scooter in the Behala area of Kolkata when two buses were racing each other for passengers.
One of the buses hit the scooter, and the rider was badly hurt.
He was taken to a hospital but died there.
Police said they are looking for the bus drivers who left the scene.
People in the neighborhood are upset because they think buses often drive recklessly in that area.
A scooter rider was killed when caught between two racing buses in Behala, Kolkata, around 9:45 am.
One bus on the Esplanade‑Diamond Harbour route struck the scooter, critically injuring the rider who later died at Vidyasagar State General Hospital.
Police have registered a case, are reviewing CCTV footage, and are searching for the two bus drivers who fled the scene.
Local residents protested, accusing private buses of reckless competition for passengers as a frequent problem in the area.
