UP Simplifies Tenancy Fees On Rents Up To ₹10 Lakh
The Uttar Pradesh government changed how rent agreements are charged.
The change is meant to make renting houses, shops and warehouses easier.
Earlier, fees were calculated using the property's circle rate.
Officials said this could make agreements more expensive.
Now, fixed fees will be used instead.
Rent up to ₹2 lakh a year will cost ₹1,000 in fees.
Rent up to ₹6 lakh will cost ₹3,000, and rent up to ₹10 lakh will cost ₹4,500.
The new system applies to agreements lasting up to 10 years.
