Crackers drive Bengal tiger back to forest
A big cat called a Bengal tiger wandered into a village in India.
The villagers and forest officers worked together to safely guide the tiger back to its home in the forest.
They used loud noises from firecrackers to scare the tiger away.
The tiger is known to live in a nearby forest, and the villagers are careful to protect themselves and the tiger.
The forest officers are also taking extra steps to make sure no more tigers wander into the village, especially during winter when it happens more often.
A Bengal tiger strayed into Kishorimohanpur village in South 24-Parganas on Thursday morning.
Villagers and forest officers used crackers to drive the tiger back to the Ajmalmari 11 forest compartment.
The tiger's pugmarks were spotted along the riverbank leading to the forest, indicating its return.
A team of forest guards, police, and community members traced the tiger's movements during low tide.
The forest department has identified several panchayat areas as vulnerable to tiger intrusions and has increased patrolling.
