India's EV charging stations surge on highways
India has seen a big increase in electric vehicle (EV) charging stations on its highways.
Last year, the number of fast-chargers on key routes went up by 40-90%.
The highway with the most chargers is National Highway 48, which runs from Delhi to Chennai.
Other highways like NH44 and NH66 also saw a lot of growth.
Companies like Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, and Mahindra are working to add more charging stations.
They want to make sure that EVs can be used just like regular cars.
Restaurants are also becoming places where people can charge their EVs while taking a break.
In 2025, India sold over 2 million EVs, including cars, scooters, and other vehicles.
The government and companies are working together to make EV charging more available and reliable.
