BJP, Government Clash as Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Opens

BJP, Government Clash as Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Opens

The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly began its autumn session with arguments between the BJP and the ruling alliance.

BJP lawmakers protested about electricity prices, workers’ jobs and National Health Mission employees.

They also questioned whether government jobs were being outsourced instead of given to local young people.

The ruling alliance responded by demanding the restoration of statehood for Jammu and Kashmir.

It also criticized the Central Government.

Both sides shouted slogans and displayed placards.

The Speaker asked lawmakers to return to their seats and let the Assembly work.

Because the disruptions continued, the Assembly was adjourned and is due to meet again on Tuesday.
