Gold and silver prices decline on MCX
Gold and silver prices went down on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) in India on Thursday, 23 July.
This happened because people who bought gold and silver earlier decided to sell them to make a profit.
Also, the price of oil went up because of fights between the US and Iran, which made people think the US might make it harder to borrow money.
The day before, gold prices had gone up by 2%, and silver by 1.5%.
In the US, gold prices also went down a little bit.
Gold and silver prices declined on MCX due to profit booking.
MCX gold August contracts were down 0.32% at ₹1,45,207 per 10 grams.
MCX silver September futures were down 0.23% at ₹2,26,474 per kg.
US gold futures declined about half a percent to $4,115 per troy ounce.
Rising crude oil prices due to US-Iran conflict influenced the decline.
