Dropped Licence Helps Delhi Police Build Minor Rape-Murder Case
Police say a 10-year-old girl was kidnapped and killed in Delhi on June 22.
The main accused is cab driver Bashu Kumar Singh.
Investigators allege that he drove around the area and cancelled two rides before taking the girl from a footpath.
They say he assaulted her inside the car and later killed her near a forested road.
Police found her body under three large rocks.
Singh’s driving licence was found nearby, which investigators believe he accidentally dropped.
Cameras and vehicle-recording systems were used to follow his movements.
Police also collected physical and forensic evidence from the car and locations connected to the case.
A supplementary chargesheet is expected later.
