Allies Condemn Israel’s Decision Not to Investigate Gaza Aid Killings

In April 2024, an Israeli airstrike killed seven workers from World Central Kitchen in Gaza.

The workers were delivering help to civilians.

Britain, Australia and Canada said Israel’s decision not to pursue a criminal investigation was shameful.

Poland also said it was very disappointed.

Families of the victims and World Central Kitchen said the military’s explanation did not justify the attack.

The Israeli military said its troops mistakenly thought some people in the vehicles were armed Hamas members.

It also said the convoy had moved away from an agreed route.

The military removed two officers and reprimanded three others, but said the commanders had not committed suspected criminal misconduct.

The controversy comes alongside new Israeli investigations into other deaths in Gaza.
