Bangladesh Air Force F-7 Jet Crashes into School, Dhaka
Imagine a plane called the F-7, made in China.
It's like a smaller, simpler version of a fighter jet.
One of these planes had a problem and crashed into a school and college in Bangladesh.
This was during a normal practice flight.
Sadly, a lot of people, mostly children, were hurt very badly.
The F-7 has been around a while and is used by several countries because it's not too expensive.
The Chinese military doesn't use them anymore, but other countries, like Bangladesh, still do.
A Bangladesh Air Force F-7 BGI fighter jet crashed into a school and college campus in Dhaka.
The F-7 BGI is the final and most advanced version of China’s Chengdu J-7/F-7 family.
The crash, attributed to mechanical failure, resulted in at least 31 fatalities.
The F-7 is a lightweight, affordable jet widely exported, including to Bangladesh since the 1980s.
The J-7 was decommissioned from the Chinese military by the end of 2023, but is still used by other countries.
