India Resumes Tourist Visas for Chinese Citizens After 5-Year Hiatus
India is now letting Chinese tourists visit again after a long break.
In 2020, after a fight at the border, India stopped giving out tourist visas to Chinese citizens.
This was because of a disagreement.
Starting July 24, 2025, Chinese people can apply for a tourist visa again.
They need to fill out a form online, make an appointment, and then go to a visa center in person with their documents.
This is a big step towards better relationships between the two countries, especially after talks between their leaders.
India is resuming tourist visas for Chinese citizens starting July 24, 2025.
The suspension of tourist visas was in place since 2020 due to the Galwan Valley clash.
The new process requires online application, appointment scheduling, and in-person submission.
The announcement was made by the Indian Embassy in China on social media.
This move follows a diplomatic freeze and a visit by the Foreign Secretary to Beijing in January 2025.
