Highway 144A Project to Boost Connectivity in Rajouri, Poonch
Imagine a new, better road is being built in a place called Rajouri and Poonch.
This new road, called National Highway 144A, will make it much faster to travel to places like Jammu.
Right now, it takes about six hours to get from Poonch to Jammu, but the new road will cut that time down to just three or four hours.
Workers are building tunnels and bridges as part of the project, and some parts are almost done.
This road will help people move around more easily, help the military, and bring more tourists and businesses to the area.
The goal is for everything to be finished by 2026.
National Highway 144A project aims to improve connectivity in Rajouri and Poonch districts.
The highway upgrade will significantly reduce travel time between Poonch, Rajouri, and Jammu.
The project includes constructing tunnels and bridges, with some already completed or nearing completion.
The improved highway is expected to boost civilian mobility, strategic infrastructure, and tourism.
The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) plans to finish the project by 2026.
