Maruti Suzuki Q1FY27 Profit Falls 8% Amid Cost Surge
Maruti Suzuki India is a big car maker in India.
In the first quarter of its 2027 financial year, it made less money than last year, losing 8% of its profit.
This happened because the price of things it needs to build cars went up because of a conflict in West Asia.
Even though it earned more money from selling cars, the higher costs cut into its profit.
The company sold more cars than before – about 29% more – and its share of the market grew to 41%.
It also opened a new factory in Kharkhoda, which helped it sell more cars.
At the end of the quarter, the cars it had ready to sell were only enough for about 13 days of sales.
Net profit fell 8% YoY to Rs 3,447 crore due to raw material cost rise from West Asia conflict.
Revenue increased 36% YoY to Rs 52,469 crore.
Total sales volume grew 29.3% YoY, with small cars up 34.1%, SUVs up 44.6%, and exports up 28.6%.
Domestic market share rose to 41.2% after opening a second plant in Kharkhoda.
Network inventory at quarter end was only about 13 days.
