Health Checks in Your 20s, 30s and 40s Explained

Health Checks in Your 20s, 30s and 40s Explained

People can have health problems without feeling sick.

In your 20s, a healthy person may only need a check-up every two or three years.

After 30, doctors usually pay closer attention to blood pressure, weight, blood sugar and cholesterol.

After 40, check-ups may become yearly or more frequent.

People who smoke, have obesity, high blood pressure or a family history of diabetes or heart disease may need checks more often.

Health checks can also include cancer screening, vaccinations, eye exams and dental visits.

Getting every possible test each year is not always helpful.

A doctor can create a schedule based on your personal risks and past results.
