Jharkhand court: no cow at home not grounds for divorce

A man in India went to court to ask for a divorce.

He said his wife was unkind to him and made his life difficult.

He told the judge she locked the bathroom door, turned off the water, and would not let him keep a cow at home.

The man also said his wife made him leave their house in 2020.

The couple got married in 1989 and lived together for 31 years.

They have three children together.

The judge said that being unkind in one marriage may not be unkind in another, and every family is different.

The judge decided the things the man described were not serious enough to end a marriage that lasted almost 35 years.

So the court said no to the divorce.
