Domkal TMC MLA Jafikul Islam Dies After Battle with Cancer
Jafikul Islam, a politician from the Trinamul Congress party, has died.
He was 49 years old and represented the Domkal constituency.
He was admitted to a Kolkata hospital after vomiting blood.
He had been sick for nearly two years because of cancer.
The MLA was first elected in 2021.
Before that he was a councillor, then chairman and administrator at the Domkal Municipality.
His body will be brought back to his home for burial.
