Pakistan Allocates Electricity for Bitcoin Mining, AI Data Centers
Imagine Pakistan has extra electricity, like when you have too much of a snack.
They plan to use some of it to power special computer centers.
These centers will help with things like Bitcoin (a digital money) and artificial intelligence (AI), which are like super-smart computers.
The government hopes this will create new jobs, bring in money from other countries, and make good use of the extra electricity.
This is just the first step in a bigger plan, so there's more to come!
Pakistan will allocate 2,000 megawatts of electricity for bitcoin mining and AI data centers.
The initiative aims to monetize surplus electricity and attract foreign investment.
The Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC), a government-backed body, spearheads the initiative.
This allocation is the first phase of a multi-stage digital infrastructure roll-out.
The plan addresses challenges in Pakistan's energy sector, including high tariffs and surplus generation.
