Sri Lankan Court Remands Rescued Rameswaram Fishermen Until August 21

Some fishermen from a town called Rameswaram in India were out fishing in the sea.

Their boat got stuck near an island in Sri Lanka because the wind was very strong.

The Sri Lankan navy came and helped them get to safety.

Then the fishermen were taken to a court called the Kaytsara court.

A judge named Aneepa Rajeev heard their case.

The judge said the fishermen must stay in Sri Lanka until August 21.

This is called being remanded.

There were eleven fishermen in the group.

This year Sri Lanka has also stopped many other fishing boats, taking 22 boats and 214 fishermen so far.
