EC uploads voter list after SC order
The Supreme Court told the Election Commission to show a list of voters with some problems, like wrong parent names or weird age differences, in West Bengal.
The court said to put this list in local government offices.
At first, the Election Commission had trouble because they didn't have the right computer program.
But by Saturday, they put the list on their website.
This list has names of about 1.25 crore voters who have some issues in their voter details.
The Supreme Court ordered the Election Commission to display the list of voters with logical discrepancies in West Bengal by Saturday.
The list includes 1.25 crore voters with issues like mismatched parent names and unusual age differences.
The Election Commission initially faced delays due to the lack of required software for Booth Level Officers.
The list was uploaded on the EC's website on January 24, following the Supreme Court's directive.
The list is to be displayed at gram panchayat bhavans, block offices, and ward offices in West Bengal.
