Netanyahu Arrives in New York for UN Address

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s prime minister, traveled to New York to speak at the United Nations.

His visit includes meetings with several presidents, prime ministers, and other senior officials.

However, no meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump is planned.

He also is not scheduled to meet Secretary of State Marco Rubio or Arab leaders.

Netanyahu’s office says many leaders wanted to meet him.

The office says his visit is short because he must return to Israel before the Jewish holiday of Sukkot.

A European Union official said that only a small amount of the money needed to rebuild Gaza has been collected.

The visit comes as Netanyahu faces descriptions of increasing diplomatic isolation.
