Defense Ministry Funds Deep-Tech R&D Projects
The Defense Ministry is giving a lot of money, ₹500 crore, to help develop new technologies.
This money will go towards projects like making better materials, using artificial intelligence, and exploring quantum technology.
Right now, there are nine projects already started, and they're working with different companies and universities.
People are keeping a close eye on how these projects are going at different stages to make sure everything is on track.
Some centers are already working with companies and schools, and others are figuring out how to focus on things that will help the defense.
Defense Ministry allocates ₹500 crore for deep-tech research and development under the Technology Development Fund (TDF) scheme.
Nine projects have been launched under this initiative, with nine industries engaged in four projects through DRDO Industry-Academia Centres of Excellence (DIA-CoEs).
Projects span research areas including powder metallurgy, artificial intelligence, quantum technology, and advanced materials.
Projects are monitored at three stages, with the Technical Evaluation Committee (TEC) evaluating proposals.
Existing centers focus on integrating with industry and academic research, while new centers streamline defense-oriented outcomes.
