BMC Approves Feasibility Study for Mulund Golf Course
The city government in Mumbai has allowed a group called PGTI to check if a golf course can be built on a piece of land that used to be a dumping site.
This land in Mulund East has been empty since the dumping site was closed in 2018.
A local politician, Mihir Kotecha, suggested turning this land into a golf course to make the area better for people living nearby.
The study will look at if the land is good for a golf course and how it can help the neighborhood.
If everything goes well, this could bring new jobs, better buildings, and cleaner air for the people in Mulund.
However, part of the land has also been leased to developers for construction purposes, which might affect the golf course plans.
BMC approved a feasibility study for a golf course on a former dumping ground in Mulund East.
The 64-acre plot has been unused since the dumping ground was shut down in 2018.
Local BJP legislator Mihir Kotecha advocated for converting the land into a recreational and economic asset.
The study will assess environmental suitability, land conditions, and potential layout of the golf course.
The project aims to support local growth, redevelopment, employment opportunities, and improved air quality.
