Thane Schools Celebrate 'Har Ghar Tiranga' With Rakhi-Making Activities

In India, there is a special celebration called 'Har Ghar Tiranga', which means 'Tricolour in Every Home.'

During this week, people are encouraged to fly the Indian national flag with pride.

Some schools in Thane city joined the celebration by making rakhis, which are pretty bands tied on Raksha Bandhan.

The students used the colours of the Indian flag—saffron, white, and green—to make their rakhis.

Teachers helped the children and explained what the flag's colours mean.

Students from classes 1 to 8 took part in the fun craft activity.

Some special guests, like city leaders and corporators, visited the schools to cheer the children on.

They praised the kids for their beautiful handmade rakhis.

The activity taught children to love their country and respect its flag.

The campaign runs from August 9 to August 15, with Independence Day right at the end.
