Pakistan Airspace Notice Fuels Speculation Over Fatah-3 Missile Test

Pakistan Airspace Notice Fuels Speculation Over Fatah-3 Missile Test

Pakistan told airplanes to avoid a large area of its airspace on August 19 and 20.

The restricted area was about 750 kilometers long.

Pakistan did not explain what would happen there.

Because the area was so large, defence watchers wondered whether a missile might be tested.

Some observers are considering whether the test could involve the Fatah-3 system.

Pakistan has announced the Fatah-3, but it has not publicly shown it.

Pakistan already operates other Fatah systems for conventional precision strikes.

The speculation came during a disagreement between Pakistan and the United States over comments about Jammu and Kashmir.
