Court Denies Spy's Son SI Appointment Due to Policy Absence
A man whose father was a spy asked the court to help him get a job as a police officer (S-I).
His father was captured in Pakistan and spent time in prison.
The man already had a job as a police officer (constable).
However, the court said no, because there isn't a rule saying they have to give him the higher job.
The court said that it can't make the government give him a job that is not offered if there is no specific policy in place.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court rejected a plea for a spy's son's appointment as a sub-inspector.
The petitioner's father was an Intelligence Bureau spy imprisoned in Pakistan.
The petitioner, despite qualifications, was initially offered and accepted a constable position.
He sought appointment to a higher S-I post based on parity but was denied.
The court cited the absence of a state policy supporting such appointments as the reason for the denial.
