Tata Steel Q1 Profit Up 19%, Board Approves NINL Expansion

Tata Steel, a big Indian steel company, made more money in the first quarter of its 2026‑27 financial year.

Its profit went up by 19% to about ₹2,385 crore.

The company also earned more money overall, about ₹61,000 crore.

The board decided to spend ₹33,873 crore to add more steel‑making capacity at a subsidiary called NINL.

This will help Tata Steel make more long‑products, especially for retail customers.

NINL is being merged into Tata Steel, so the new capacity will be part of the main company.

The move is expected to boost sales and meet strong demand for Tata Steel’s branded products.
