Modi Urges SCO Leaders to Dismantle Entire Terror Ecosystem
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation in Bishkek.
He said countries should work together to stop terrorism.
This means stopping terrorists from getting money, recruits, support and safe places.
He said countries should use the same rules against terrorism and should not treat terrorist groups as useful tools.
Modi also said wars should be solved by talking instead of fighting.
He supported better roads, railways, trade routes and other ways to connect countries.
However, he said these projects must respect every country’s borders and independence.
He also asked countries to cooperate against drugs and help young people, scientists and writers connect.
India will host the first meeting of the SCO Civilisational Dialogue Forum this year.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged SCO members to dismantle terrorism’s financing, recruitment, radicalisation and safe-haven networks.
Modi called for a united response without double standards and said terrorism must not be used as a strategic asset or state policy tool.
He identified Security, Connectivity and Opportunity as the three pillars of India’s vision for the SCO.
Modi said wars and conflicts should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy rather than on the battlefield.
He supported stronger cooperation on drug trafficking, trade, connectivity and people-to-people ties while stressing national sovereignty.
